Peter,
I was there almost 2 years ago with 3 of my best friends (David & Dustin Marks and Erik Harssema). We had the time of our lives and talk about to this day. I tell anyone and everyone looking to go on a vacation about the British asshole who owns this place out on San Pedro Island. And to try the Hawaiian pizza!! I hope all is well and I can get out there again soon. Maybe have the police come beat on your door, looking for a stolen bicycle! I’ve included some pictures, not only to remind you of our crazy asses, but for you to include in the website.

Free Spays and Neuters for Families in Need January 18^th-20th

December 29, 2009 – San Pedro, Belize – The San Pedro Animal Hospital is proud to announce it has officially opened its doors, with a mission to provide ongoing, affordable animal healthcare in San Pedro.

Built by Pedro’s Hotel & Inn, and with a significant donation by Amanda and Cal Syme from Sunrise Realty for the hospital’s dental hygiene services, SPAH is the first and only private veterinary clinic in San Pedro, Belize. SPAH is headed by Dr. Laurie Droke, the only full-time veterinarian on the island of Ambergris Caye. While private, the animal hospital will work with any non-profit organization or volunteer group by offering them substantial discounts on services.

“We’re really excited about the opportunity to help animals on the island with proper facilities and equipment,” says Dr. Droke.

Mrs. Syme also comments, “We are enthusiastic to support SPAH as quality animal healthcare is greatly needed in San Pedro.”

SPAH graciously thanks its supporters, especially Pedro’s Hotel & Inn, SPAH’s principal donor with a portion of all room and sports bar profits dedicated to SPAH. Peter Lawrence, Pedro’s Hotel owner encourages, “By staying at Pedro’s, you will be supporting the needs of animals on the island.”

To celebrate its opening and in conjunction with The San Pedro Sun, SPAH will be offering 10 free spays or neuters from January 18^th-20^th, 2010 for pets and owners who would otherwise be unable to afford the operation. To qualify, pet owners may apply at The San Pedro Sun, SAGA, or directly at the hospital. Also, SPAH hopes to make this offer every two months.

A Magical Guest

We never know who will turn up to stay at Pedro’s Hotel. This weekend we were pleasantly surprised by Lucas Deni a magician from Argentina.

Lucas was willing to do a Sunday Night show at Pedro’s Pizza and wowed us all with his skillful magic tricks and slight of hand.

Eat, drink, be merry, buy lots of raffle tickets and place your bids on silent auction was the going trend and what made the Liberty Children’s Home fundraiser at Pedro’s Hotel such a smashing success. We raised over thirteen thousand dollars for the kids and everyone had a fab time at the fundraiser.
